The XV International Conference «Physical Interpretations of Relativity» is to be held on 6-9 July, 2009 in the BMSTU. The organizers of the Conference are the BMSTU, International Research Institute of hypercomplex systems in geometry and physics, the Universities of Liverpool and Sunderland, Russian Gravitation Society and Moscow Physical Society. The actual problems of physical picture construction of the Universe will be discussed during the Conference.

The celebration meeting devoted to the 95th anniversary of an outstanding designer, scientist, Academician of Academy of Sciences of the USSR, a founder of the Department SM-2 «Aerospace systems» and VPK NPO «Mashinostroenie» Chelomey Vladimir Nikolaevich will be held on 29 June, 2009 in the BMSTU.

The Entrepreneurial Competition – business game «Business-Lady» will be held on 15 May, 2009 in the BMSTU. This event is carried out within the bounds of the first stage of Competition of innovation projects of students, post-graduates and young scientists for selection of future participants of business-incubator of the BMSTU.

The ceremony meeting devoted to the Victory Day and the symbolical start of 15th uninterrupted track and field relay race «Moscow – Vyazma» will be held on 7 May, 2009 near the main building of the BMSTU. This relay race is one of the traditions of celebration in honour of veterans of the Great Patriotic War in the BMSTU and dignities to soldiers from the BMSTU fallen during this war.

The celebration of the 100th anniversary of Academician Barmin V.P., Chief Designer of launching sites «Bajkonur», «Kapustin Yar», «Pleseczk» and the 50th anniversary of the Department of «Launching sites» founded by him will be held on 23 April, 2009 in the BMSTU. Grand meeting and opening of memorial plate devoted to Barmin V.P. will take place near Main educational building.

On 22 April, 2009 (at 10.00 am) a meeting of the delegations of USA and Japan universities, rectors of Russian universities and directors of specialized centers for education of the hearing-impaired devoted to cooperation in the framework of PEN-International program is to be held in the BMSTU. Later (at 3.00 pm) Scientific Conference devoted to the 75th anniversary of higher professional education of the disabled persons in Russia.

The Commencement Meeting of the Third Competitions of the Russian lag of Youth Robot-technical Tournament «Evrobot-2009» organized by the BMSTU with the assistance of Moscow Government and Moscow Center of Innovations and High Tech will be held on 21 April, 2009. The teams of pupils, students of colleges and technical universities will take part in the tournament. The jury of the competitions consisting of students and postgraduates of Moscow leading higher schools will choose the best teams for representing Russia in final competitions «Evrobot-2009» in France.

16 April, 2009 a meeting of the State Duma Committee on CIS business and ties with countrymen, State Duma Committee on Education with representatives of Moscow leading higher schools is to be held in the BMSTU. The problems of job retraining and advanced training of specialists from countries of CIS in accordance with new trends of technique and technologies development will be discussed.

The discussion will be held on 3 April, 2009 in the BMSTU. The problems of IBM mainframes introduction in higher schools and business, perspective projects based on mainframe technologies mutually beneficial cooperation of business and Russian higher schools will be discussed.

On 2 April, 2009 the Olympics «Step into the Future» (section «Cosmonautics») will be held in the BMSTU Palace of Culture. During last 18 years the talented pupils from all over Russia have met here.  The participants of the Olympics will demonstrate more than 200 models of rockets, engines and missile complexes. The winners of the scientific competition will have an opportunity to continue their education on rocket and cosmonautics specialities of the BMSTU.

The Teleconference devoted to the 150th anniversary of A.S. Popov’s birthday will be held on 24 March, 2009. The studios from Saint-Petersburg, Kotka (Finland), Moscow and students and teachers of Saint Petersburg Electrotechnical University «LETI» (ETU) and BMSTU will take part in this Conference.

The scientific and practical conference will be held on 23 March, 2009 in the BMSTU Palace of Culture. The organizers of the Conference are the Federal Agency of Youth Activities and the BMSTU. The perspectives of innovative and scientific activity in Russia, the role of state regulation and problems of commercialization of scientific and innovative projects will be discussed during the Conference. The exhibition of scientific developments of young scientists will take place.

The annual Academic Readings on cosmonautics in memories of Academician Korolev S.P. is to be held at the BMSTU on 26-20 January, 2009. The general constructors and directors of leading scientific and research institutions and enterprises of space brunch, leaders of organizations of the Russian Academy of Sciences will take part in the Readings. Round-table discussions devoted to the 50th anniversary of Moon development and space programs of different countries and the exhibition of photos made on board of ISS and orbital complex «Mir» by the cosmonaut Krikalev S. will be carried out during the Readings.

On 12 December, 2008 in the Hall of the BMSTU Academic Council the party in memories of Academician V.Larionov is to be held. The presentation of the book entitled «Vladimir Larionov» and documental film about his life will take place. The friends and colleagues of the Academician will speak with their memories.
